Jimmy Fallon on Baby Fertility Issues: "It's the Most Worth-It Thing"
Jimmy Fallon and his wife, movie producer Nancy Juvonen, tried for five years to have a baby.
Night time talk host Jimmy Fallon offered surprising news last month after he revealed that he and his wife Nancy has just welcomed a baby daughter into the world. But what Fallon did not immediately reveal was that the baby was born via surrogate. In a recent interview, Fallon shared that he and his wife tried for five years to have a child with no avail. He describes the experience as an "awful" one.
"We've tried a bunch of things and anyone's who's tried will know, it's just awful," he said. "We tried before, and we told people and then it didn't happen, and it's just really depressing, it's really hard on everybody so this time we said, 'We're not gonna tell anybody.' It would just be more fun if it's just private between me and my wife and then we get to introduce her to everybody."

Winnie Rose was born on July 23rd. Fallon introduced her to the world during his show on July 24th.
"I'm emotionally drained. I'm the father of a beautiful baby girl," he told his audience. "She's 5 pounds, 9 ounces. Me and my wife are so happy. Thank you all for all the well-wishes on Facebook and Twitter and the blogs. I'm just so happy."
The night before was a different sort of emotional experience as Fallon and his wife shared the news of their baby girl with friends. After much support from close friends and family during trying times, Fallon was relieved to share good news. He hopes sharing his experience now will help others who were in a similar position.
"Everybody starts crying and it's just really happy because we tried for a long time - for five years," he said. "I know people have tried for much longer, but if there's anyone out there who's trying and just losing hope, just hang in there, try every avenue. Try anything you can do because you'll get there, you'll end up with a family and it's so worth it. It's the most worth-it thing."
