Joan Rivers, Jennifer Lawrence Feud Escalates Over 'Fashion Police' Comments
Joan Rivers is continuing her new feud with Jennifer Lawrence and recently told a New York paper that she hopes the actress "grows up and realizes how lucky she is and calms down."
Rivers, of the hit show "Fashion Police" is making her statements in response of Lawrence's comments that the "The Hunger Games" star made about her show.
The two got became embroiled in this back-in-forth after Lawrence stated that shows like Rivers' "Fashion Police" teach young people how to judge one another.
Lawrence recently said she despised "shows like 'Fashion Police' that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people ... and that it's OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat."
Rivers responded by telling the paper that the actress is just being a hypocrite given that she is guilty in participating in many of the things that she is denouncing.
"I love that she's telling everyone how wrong it is to worry about retouching and body image, and meanwhile, she has been touched up [a lot]. Look at her posters. She doesn't have a nose, she has two holes. She just has to learn, don't talk if you're doing it," Rivers added.
Still Rivers insisted that Lawrence is a great professional and "an amazing actress, she's the next Meryl Streep."
But Lawrence has been outspoken about women and weight, saying she wants to be "healthy and strong" for her movie roles and that she's refused to lose weight.
"We have the ability to control this image that young girls are going to be seeing. They see enough of this body that they will never be able to obtain and it's an amazing opportunity to rid ourselves of that in this industry," The Guardian quoted Lawrence as saying.
