Joan Rivers to Exchange Lives With Bristol Palin on 'Celebrity Wife Swap'
Joan Rivers and daughter Melissa are packing their bags and heading for Alaska in the new season of "Celebrity Wife Swap." The duo are trading lives with Bristol and Willow Palin, daughters of former Gov. Sarah Palin.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Rivers women will be caring for 4-year-old Tripp, son of Bristol Palin. The young man is sure to keep Joan and Melissa on their toes as he adjusts to having new women in his life who will provide a different sense of structure and routine for the boy.
Bristol and Willow will take care of Melissa's son, 12-year-old Cooper. It should not be that big of a deal for Bristol, who helped raise her younger siblings while her mother held office. However, what will provide a shock is the glamorous lifestyle the girls will have to adapt to. Bristol and Willow will fill in for Joan's chaotic lifestyle, including being the executive producer of "Fashion Police" and hosting formal dinner parties.
The series will also feature unique celebrity families, including two World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) families: "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper will exchange partners. Actress Nia Peeples will swap households with singer Tiffany later on in the series.
"Celebrity Wife Swap" takes two seemingly opposite personalities and has them swap homes and lives for two weeks. During week one, the swappers must follow by the traditional rules of the home, but during week two, anything goes. The "new" moms take control and set their own agendas.
Previous swappers include Gilbert Gottfried and Alan Thicke; Kate Gosselin and Kendra Wilkinson; Tracey Gold and Carnie Wilson, and Gary Busey and Ted Haggard. The series is currently in its third season and continues to entertain audiences by its often-awkward pairings and inside peeks into the lives of celebrities.
While some are excited to see how the Rivers-Palin household swap will go, others point out that neither Joan nor Bristol are wives but are instead merely swapping lives... and children.
Their episode airs on ABC on Sunday, June 23, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
