2. Sam Brownback

Sam Brownback, the former Ambassador-at-large for International Religious Freedom who served alongside Lieberman in the U.S. Senate from 1996-2011, also shared a photo of himself with his former colleague on X Wednesday. Brownback, a Republican from Kansas, described Lieberman as “a great man willing to work across the aisle and do what he felt was right.”

“He was a proud American and staunch defender of Israel,” Brownback added. “Proud to call him a friend.”
