John Cena News: Find Out What The WWE Superstar Is Up To During His Hiatus
Former World Wrestling Entertainment champion and superstar John Cena is currently on hiatus from professional wrestling action.
Cena has been on the shelves since October, after his Hell in a Cell match for the United States Championship against Alberto Del Rio. Since then, he has been fulfilling other obligations as a celebrity figure. One notable project of Cena's is the hosting job he was given by FOX Entertainment, for the upcoming military-based reality show entitled "American Grit".
The series is slated to air in a yet undetermined date in 2016.
He also recently made an appearance on the Today Show, where he addressed the issue of United States presidential candidate Donald Trump's intent to ban Muslims from entering the United States.
According to Cena, doing so would be similar to what the United States has done in World War II.
"The last time we did anything like this was in World War II," Cena said on the Today Show. "And that was one of the most reprehensible acts by the United States of America. 'We are the melting pot, except for you.' That does not go along with our DNA."
He also made a recent appearance on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, wherein he was part of a skit mocking some memories of his childhood.
But as far as making a return into the WWE ring goes, Cena is apparently in the tail end of his hiatus. According to Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net, Cena is actually being booked for a December 26th show in New York City.
Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone corroborated with Powell's report and explained in more detail how the arrangement for Cena's appearance was slated to happen.
According to Pritchard, Cena was supposedly slated to face Sheamus for the WWE United States Championship. But for a reason yet to be determined, he will instead face Alberto Del Rio once again.
The report adds that the event will take place at the Madison Square Garden.
