John Travolta Lawsuit: First Accuser Drops Lawsuit, Second Opts for Mediation
John Travolta's first accuser, identified as John Doe #1 in legal documents, has dropped his sexual assault lawsuit against the actor just days after a third man came forward with similar allegations.
Okorie Okorocha, the Los Angeles lawyer who was previously representing two of Travolta's accusers, filed dismissal papers on Tuesday morning in California and specified that it is only John Doe #1 who is dropping his claim, according to TMZ.
A second man, identified as John Doe #2, is still being represented by Okorocha. The attorney was forced to drop John Doe #1 over the weekend after the masseur began backtracking shortly after filing a legal complaint against Travolta.
John Doe #1 initially claimed that the married father made sexual advances toward him during a massage session on the morning of Jan. 16 at approximately 10 a.m. in Beverly Hills, Calif. He began backtracking after new evidence emerged which backed Travolta's theory that he is innocent.
Travolta's flight records, a dinner receipt and photographs revealed that the 58-year-old was in New York at the time of incident and not in California as John Doe #1 stated in a legal complaint. This prompted the accuser to then allege that he got the date of incident mixed up.
"Okorocha did not feel he could represent John Doe #1 going forward anymore and recommended him finding another lawyer. He is still representing John Doe #2 other alleged victims who are possibly coming forward," a source told Radar.
John Doe #1, a masseur, claimed that Travolta stripped naked and appeared semi-erect before offering him a "reverse massage."
"Come on dude, I'll j--- you off!!!" Travolta allegedly told John Doe #1 after his sexual advances were rejected.
Both Okorocha and Travolta's attorney Marty Singer have agreed to a private mediation with the hopes of resolving John Doe #2's sexual assault claim against the actor.
Travolta's third accuser is yet to file a lawsuit against the actor.
