John Travolta Wedding Crash: Actor Shows Up in T-Shirt and Jeans (PHOTOS)
John Travolta's wedding crashing at a Georgia ceremony over the weekend gained national attention. The actor posed with the bride, groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen in several pictures and seemed to be having fun.
Travolta's wedding crash adventure began when the 59-year-old actor visited Georgia to renew his pilot's license, which he obtained in the state. He was in a bar when he met a couple who was due to be married the next day. After getting their names and hanging out, they parted for the night.
The next day, the "Face Off" star showed up to their wedding, making it a very memorable day for the bride, groom, and their large wedding party. He posed with all of them, took pictures, and gave the "thumbs up" sign to the happy couple.
"My friend ran in John Travolta the night before his wedding, and he shows up the next day," a user posted on Reddit along with various pictures of the group.
Travolta was wearing a black t-shirt, black cap, blue denim jeans and black shoes the night he met the couple in the bar, and the friend said he was dressed in "basically the same outfit as the night before." Although the actor was underdressed compared to the tuxedoes and royal purple dresses of the wedding party, he still smiled in the pictures.
The last time Travolta crashed a wedding it was alongside Robin Williams in 1977, he revealed several years ago. He and Williams were far less known at the time.
"We were having fun, starting to relax [at a restaurant near Travolta's home in Santa Barbara], when we saw there was a wedding next door. We figured we'd crash it," the actor told USA Today.
Wedding guests saw them, but didn't realize who they were. Initially, attendees pegged them for impersonators and mentioned their characters from "Welcome Back, Kotter" and "Mork & Mindy." They figured it out eventually, though.
"Some guy yelled out, 'Hey, they really are Mork and Vinnie Barbarino!'" Travolta recounted.
Travolta isn't the only one to crash a wedding recently. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart also showed up at a wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch in Monetcito, Calif. last week.
"It was extra exciting for Tanya and John (the bride and groom)," a relative told People magazine. "They were just sitting quietly and talking and we were on the lawn nearby. We respected their privacy."
