Johnny Depp Plays Guitar, Accepts Generation Award
Actor Johnny Depp has proved his musical talent during the 2012 MTV Movie Awards Sunday after taking the stage alongside The Black Keys.
The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star played guitar during the band's performance, stealing the show.
Later during the awards ceremony, Depp was honored for his acting career.

Ahead of accepting the MTV Generation Award, Depp's career was showcased with clips from movies ranging from "Edward Scissorhands" to "Alice in Wonderland."
Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry took the stage to present Depp with the award, describing the actor as a "gutsy actor, gutsy musician, and gutsy artist with passion."
"Johnny Depp is a rock star in the world of movies," said Tyler.
Delivering a brief acceptance speech, Depp said the Generation Award was "like the 'get out of the business award,' you've done too much."
"Based on the clips, there's obviously something wrong with me," said the actor. "I just thank you very much."
"It's an honor to be presented by these two legends Steven and Jow, and these up and coming legends, The Black Keys," noted the star.
Backstage after performing "Gold on the Ceiling" and "Lonely Boy," The Black Keys lead singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach spoke highly of Depp.
"He's legitimately great on guitar," said the performer, according to CNN.
It was not the first time the actor had joined musicians on stage. Depp played guitar alongside Marilyn Manson at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards last April during songs "Beautiful People" and "Sweet Dreams."
Emma Stone also received one of the night's highest honors, the first-ever MTV Trailblazer Award. The 23-year-old actress delivered a touching and tearful acceptance speech.
"What sets you apart can feel like a burden and it's not," said Stone. "A lot of the time it's what makes you great."
The "Crazy, Stupid, Love" star will appear in this summer's "The Amazing Spiderman," in theaters July 3.
