Jon Jones Vs. Daniel Cormier Fight News: 'Bones' And 'DC' Trade Tirades Through Social Media

UFC light heavyweight top dogs Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones have been going at it through social media and interviews this past week.

Jones, who was recently reinstated back to the UFC after a hit-and-run driving incident in April, is believed to be preparing for a rematch with Cormier, who now holds the UFC light heavyweight title.

It is at least what UFC president Dana White promised him. Now back in training, Jones has been posting photos of himself in a more bulked up shape and working hard in the gym. The current champion actually believes that having the said physique may actually lead to a disadvantage since "being skinny worked".

"His body, the way his body was, it worked," Cormier told Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting. "It allowed him for range; it allowed him for optimal speed. It allowed him for quickness and agility."

"Maybe this guy is messing with what was given to him," he adds. "In reality, what has been given to him is perfect." Jones and Cormier have a heated history with each other, which all began during their media day brawl in August 2014.

Since then, they have gone back and forth, until they actually met inside the Octagon in early January at UFC 182. Jones did emerge victorious, and remains to hold a psychological advantage over Cormier, in terms of the bad blood between them.

For this current tirade that "DC" has started, Jones was more candid about his intentions through a series of tweets he posted.

"We are going to see how slow I am when I foot sweep you on your ass again," Jones said in one tweet.

"Bones" also alleges that Cormier was attempting to get him to "double guess his physical strength," but is unmindful about the mental aspect.

No final plans have been made about their rematch, but Jones is targeting April 23rd 2016 for their fight date.
