Jose Aldo News: UFC Featherweight champion vows to find 'snitch' who is spreading injury rumors

Reigning UFC featherweight champion José Aldo has promised to find out who the "snitch" within his camp is.

Over the past weeks, rumors about a new injury on Aldo have been making the rounds online. On top of it, retired UFC fighter and title contender Chael Sonnen claims to have talked to some people in Brazil, confirming that the champion is indeed hurt.

"I am hearing things from people in Brazil, and in this sport where there is smoke there is fire," Sonnen said in a report by Bloody Elbow. "Every single time - if there is smoke there is fire, and I am hearing things from people in Brazil...that they are not confident that Jose's gonna make the walk."

"I want that fight to happen, I really do, and I don't wanna start a rumour here, but that's what I heard," he added.

Recently, Aldo himself spoke to the media, during a short scrum for UFC 194 in Brazil. Firstly, the Brazilian champion merely brushed off the reports.

"Man, anything you do people will talk about. "I didn't care much, 'Dede' (Pederneiras) was pissed about it. I try not to care about what people say. But it was good that that happened."

Aldo also confirmed that they had been deliberately send out injury reports to actually find out who the culprit is.

"Everything we do in the gym now we hide from everyone. Sometimes I say I injured something so we can find out who's the snitch, while we give the wrong clue. I try to stay calm, relaxed, and that's what really matters. Chael is always talking, so that's another crap he said."

With less than a month left until Aldo unifies the 145-pound titles against interim champion Conor McGregor at UFC 194 on December 12th, Aldo continues his training camp at Nova Uniao in Brazil. He did, however, issue a promise to whoever this person within his camp is.

"It was over, I went back home, and when I wake up to train people said I was hurt," Aldo said. "But it's cool, it's part of the job. No problem. We're going after the snitch. I'll cut his head."
