Joseph Gordon-Levitt Asked Out on Youtube by Cancer Patient (VIDEO)
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has recently made headlines for the YouTube video asking him on a date, except he might not know it yet.
Lindsay Miller, 26, saw the success of the military officer who asked Justin Timberlake to a Military Ball and figured "why not" when she invited Levitt on a date.
“OK, I admit: It’s ridiculous. And it feels like i’m making a big leap from being an anonymous cancer ‘liver’ a few months ago to now starring in my own video,” she wrote on her blog. “But life is so short. So, why not?" Miller said in her video.
Miller is currently suffering from pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer, and was inspired to ask Levitt on a date due to his performance as a cancer patient in "50/50." According to Miller, she is really only looking for a cup of coffee with the actor.
The cancer patient maintains her own blog about her struggles with the disease at http://iamaliver.wordpress.com/, where she originally posted the video with a blog post.
"As you might recall, I saw the cancer comedy 50/50 recently and was impressed with it, though it was difficult emotionally for me to watch," she wrote.
"Also, I didn't admit this in my first post about it, but after seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance and seeing/reading some of his subsequent interviews about the film I thought, 'This guy gets it. And he's cute. I wonder if I could ever run into him somewhere.' But even though I live in LA, it seems impossible to find him."
According to the Daily Telegraph Levitt has heard about the video, but there is no confirmation on whether he has seen it. "Two other people were telling me about this, but no I have not heard about it until then," Gordon-Levitt said. "I haven't seen the video ... I'll have to watch it."
Miller's latest post on her blog spoke about her cancerversary and her life up until that point. She also marvels at all the attention she has been getting although she never expected or sought out to get it.
She wrote:
"For most of the past year I have been selectively telling people about my diagnosis. In August, I started this blog, so a few more people found out. This weekend, I “came out” as a cancer liver on Facebook and I got tons of well wishes from old friends and acquaintances alike. Now, thanks to my video and Reddit and the power of the Internet and the news, at least 170,000 people know–and counting. It’s amazing."
