Josh Duggar issues apology following Ashley Madison account reveal; several revisions made
After the scandalous leak of the Ashley Madison data on the internet, the marriages of many couples will never be the same again, including those of TV personalities like Josh Duggar. The "19 Kids and Counting" star was one of the 32 million people who used the website which promoted having an affair, according to CNN.
Following the scandal, the eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar issued a statement on Thursday, Aug. 20 through the family's website that he had been unfaithful to his wife Anna, also the mother of his four kids.
"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife. I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him," he said in the statement.

He then ended his statement by asking for forgiveness. He also pleaded for everyone to pray for his wife Anna and his family during this time. His released statement had been revised several times as noted by US Magazine.
In his initial statement, he revealed that he has been secretly addicted to pornography over the last several years. He also mentioned his actions that happened when he was 14-15 years old. In May, Duggar confessed to molesting five young girls when he was younger, including sisters Jill and Jessa Duggar. Another statement removed contained references to Satan to which he said, "In my heart I had allowed Satan to build a fortress that no one knew about."
Duggar's parents also released a statement which can be seen above Josh's statement in their website. The parents asked for prayers for their family and also shared with fans that their "hearts were broken" over the issue their son was involved with. Anna has not spoken about the issue yet.
