Joy Williams Breaks Out-Of-The-Box Records With "Hide"
Reunion Records artist Joy Williams broke records this week securing an unprecedented 47 total first-week adds on the Christian AC format for her new hit single, “Hide.” “Hide” set the out-of-the-box record on both the CRW AC chart and the R & R Indicator, garnering an impressive 60% more adds than the Indicator’s previous record holder, as well as coming in tied on the R & R Monitored chart’s all-time record for most adds. At the CHR format, the song receives an additional 18 adds this week with a total of 21 CHR stations on by add date.
"I am blown away by radio's out-of-the box acceptance of this single," notes Andrew Patton, vp of national promotions for Provident Label Group. "It clearly indicates Joy's position in the CCM community. And 'Hide' is just the first of a string of hit singles from Genesis!"
"Hide" is the first single from the highly anticipated new album Genesis co-written by Williams and produced by Matt Bronleewe. Genesis releases May 3 to Christian and general market retail.

In advance of the album release, Williams will be participating in GMA week activities, April 9 -13, which includes a whirl-wind schedule of radio and media interviews as well as an appearance at the 36th Annual GMA Music Awards where she is nominated for the "Female Artist of the Year" award.
In addition, Joy will grace the cover of Christian Music Planet's May issue on stands May 2.
Joy Williams launched her career as a songwriter and vocalist at 17. Her albums released to date include 2001's Joy Williams and 2002's By Surprise which included the No. 1 single "Every Moment." In 2002 she was voted "Best New Artist" in CCM Magazine's Readers Choice Awards.
