Juan Manuel Marquez Next Fight News: 'Dinamita' Won't Be in the Ring Until Next Year
With the boxing ring getting heated up for bouts before the end of the year, fans are questioning all around social media sites as to whether the tough "Dinamita" will make his comeback to the ring this year.
However, multiple reports state that Juan Manuel Marquez may not really make it to the sound of the bell this year. According to The Latin Post, Marquez said he in a press conference held in Mexico that he is not sure of this year's schedule. "I do not know if I will return, but I can tell you that I'm a fighter who likes to train for three or four months to prepare for a fight and there is only a month and a half left to December, so you could say that I'm not going to fight this year," he said.
He was supposed to return to the ring during the fall season after a unanimous victory against Mike Alvarado in May 2014, but his statement has only made it clear to his fans that he will most probably be fighting in 2016.
The report added that the 42-year-old boxer has suffered a kneecap injury but is still longing for the thrill inside the ring that became his grounds for being a four-time world champion. "For me hunger for success is the most telling factor...So firstly I need to recover..." he said.
Marquez's conditioning coach Angel "Memo" Heredia said earlier in June that his boxer is not opting for retirement and he is still looking forward to two more huge fights before laying his boxing gloves down.
The boxer who beat Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao also made it clear that he is eyeing a possible fifth championship before he even considers retirement, a statement that his fans greatly lauded.
Meanwhile, there seems to be no chance at the moment for another round of bouts between Marquez and Pacquiao, despite many fans asking for the Pacman to get another shot at his archenemy.
