Judd Thanks Rove: Hollywood Actress Unfazed By SuperPAC Attack Ad (VIDEO)

Ashley Judd has thanked Fox News political analyst Karl Rove following the release of a new ad designed to ridicule the actress' uncertain political plans.

The 44-year-old Hollywood star and political activist is said to be contemplating a run for senate in the state of Kentucky in 2014. The openly Democratic actress could potentially replace Republican Senator of Kentucky Addison "Mitch" McConnell, Jr. if she decides to challenge him for his seat and Rove, who is a Conservative Republican, mocked the idea in a SuperPAC (political action committee) ad.

"Ashley thanks Senator McConnell, Karl Rove, and their negative allies for all the attention as she considers her future political plans, although a decision hasn't been made yet," Judd's publicist said in a statement to E! News on Judd's behalf.

The bizarre ad dubbed "American Crossroads Presents: Ashley's Story," runs clips of carefully edited footage which shows Judd professing her support for U.S. President Barack Obama.

"You know what this country needs? An independent voice…for Obama," intones a male voiceover. "Her own grandmother says she's a Hollywood liberal, but isn't that what we need? Ashley Judd, an Obama-following, radical Hollywood liberal who's right at home here in Tennessee … I mean Kentucky."

Rove, who worked as White House Deputy Chief of Staff under President George W. Bush, reportedly spent $10,000 on the ad and it will run on the air in Kentucky for two weeks. While some critics have applauded Rove for portraying Judd as an out of touch "Hollywood liberal," others believe that the ad was simply a waste of money.

"But it is wasting money," MSNBC Conservative political commentator Sarah Elizabeth "S. E." Cupp tweeted in response to the ad.

"Rove's ad is on point! The last thing Kentucky needs is some clueless air head screwing things up," Pam. P tweeted.

"The GOP truly fear Intelligent women. Rove is on the attack and Ashley Judd hasn't even announced she's running. Too funny," Jennifer tweeted.
