Julian Lennon Photo Exhibit Launched
Julian Lennon, son of Beatles singer John Lennon, has debuted a new collection of photographs in Miami over the weekend.
Lennon's exhibit entitled "Alone" offers several photographs which have been described as melancholy. He will be selling about a dozen prints with prices between $3,000 and $5,500, with a percentage of the earnings to be donated to Lennon's charity, the White Feather Foundation.
"I've been a philanthropist for all my life," the 49-year-old artist told AFP. "I've had many involvements in humanitarian and environmental issues. Whatever work I do, I've always put at least 10 percent aside [for] my foundation."

"Alone" debuted at the Miami Beach Convention during a show that served as a part of the 11th edition of Art Basel, which claims to be the most prestigious art show in the Americas.
The popular international art show in Miami Beach offered over 260 galleries from all over the world, but was closed to the public on Sunday.
"What we're trying to do here, and that's why I'm so happy to be part of this, is we're trying to make everybody else see that. Because there is a lot of money, obviously, and the idea is to put it back in schools," added Lennon.
Lennon is the eldest son of the legendary singer and his first wife, Cynthia Powell. John Lennon's firstborn son directly inspired the famous Beatles songs "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," "Hey Jude," – originally "Hey Julian"- and "Good Night."
The famous singer admitted that his son was not planned, and that he was largely absent from his son's childhood.
Following his father's footsteps, Lennon has released six albums along an inconsistent musical career. Despite his mediocre success, Lennon revealed he harbors no regrets about pursuing music.
"Music's been with me from the get-go," the artist told the Metro U.K. "It was always around me as a kid. Dad got me my first guitar when I was 11 and, at school, if you wanted to be cool you had to be in a band … Now, for me, it's about the creativity of songwriting."
Lennon also opened up about what it's like working in the same field as his famous father.
"I've had great reviews but there has been a negative force against me in the media with regards to me working in the music industry," said the singer and songwriter. "It was hard for some people to accept me. Some of the nicest reviews compare my work favorably to my dad's work. Some recently have been a pleasure to read."
Lennon has a younger half-brother, Sean Lennon, which John Lennon shared with his second wife, Yoko Ono.
