Julianne Hough Pixie Haircut Makes Waves
Julianne Hough is the latest celebrity to chop her long hair into a pixie cut this week.
The former "Dancing with the Stars" pro dancer debuted a super-short cut on Beverly Hills, Calif. on Saturday. Known to frequently change her hairstyles, Hough's latest cut features short-cropped hair with longer pieces swept to the side at the top, according to E! Online. Fans of the "Safe Haven" star sounded off on Twitter about the short hair on Monday.
"Julianne Hough's hair makes me wanna chop all mine off," Cheere posted.
POPsugar beauty wrote, "We almost didn't recognize Julianne!"
Regardless of her latest cut, Hough often opts to experiment with the length of her hair using extensions, and so the pixie cut may not last. Just last month, the 25-year-old actress altered her chin-length haircut after she stepped out with shoulder-length hair extensions.
Hough is not the only starlet to chop off most of her hair recently. Jennifer Lawrence recently shocked fans by cutting a pixie cut that features long, side-swept bangs with short, choppy and spiky pieces of hair in the back.
"It's short and drastic," the insider told Us Weekly, adding that stylist at Nine Zero One, Riawna Capri, was responsible for Lawrence's new 'do.
A second source clarified that Lawrence's hairstyle is "kind of a punk pixie cut that has a few longer pieces on one side but is shorter everywhere else," according to the celebrity gossip magazine.
Furthermore, Pamela Anderson, Jennifer Aniston and Kristen Chenoweth also cut their long blonde hair into shorter cuts recently. While Anderson and Chenoweth cut pixie hairstyles, Aniston chopped over six inches from her hair, creating a new chin-length bob. The "Friends" actress attributed the change to boredom.
"It was kind of spur-of-the-moment," the star explained to Vogue. "I was flipping through television channels and I paused it to take a picture and I sent it to Chris [McMillan, her hair stylist] and he said, 'That's [stylist] Lawren Howell from Vogue!' And then he said, 'I just cut that!' So that's it."
