Julie Brady Engagement: Tom's Sister to Wed Kevin Youkilis
Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bundchen will welcome another famous Boston athlete into the family after a family member announced an engagement this week.
Brady's sister Julie and Boston Red Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis have become engaged, the Boston Herald reported Friday. The happy couple attended the Super Bowl alongside the Brady family in Indianapolis, Indiana last week. Their engagement took place "recently" after dating for over year.
Youkilis and Brady represent two of Boston's most famed athletes, and Brady's school teacher sister was introduced to Youkilis at a Patriots postgame party last year.
"He's a really lucky guy," said a friend of the baseball player speaking to the Herald. "She's a really nice person, but all the Bradys are nice people," continued the source about Julie.
Youkilis was formerly linked to Ben Affleck's ex-girlfriend, Enza Sambataro. He is a three-time-All-Star and a two-time World Champion baseball player.
Brady, on the other hand, has been a Boston star since leading the Patriots to three Super Bowl championships and five championship appearances in the past ten years.
Despite the Patriots' 21-17 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday, Brady is often referred to as one of the best quarterbacks of all time. The NFL star was seeking his fourth Super Bowl title to match his boyhood heroes Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw.
Super Bowl XLVI did not come without family drama- following the game, Bundchen came under fire after commenting on the Patriots' performance while defending her husband.
"My husband cannot f****** throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time," said the model. "I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."
Many have criticized Brady's wife for her comments, including New York Giants player Brandon Jacobs.
"She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up," said the NFL star before apologizing for his comment.
"Given the fact that it's a colleague of mine's wife, I do apologize for saying that," Jacobs subsequently noted.
Brady and Bundchen married in 2009 and share one son, Benjamin, as well as Brady's son from a previous relationship, John.
