'Jurassic World' Trailer Already Receives Criticism From Scientists and Intellectuals
Universal Pictures has released the trailer for the new "sequel" to Steven Spielberg's original 1993 "Jurassic Park," "Jurassic World." This time around, the film will be directed by Colin Trevorrow and is scheduled to premiere on June 12 next year.
The film will be starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in an isolated island theme park with real-life dinosaurs. Much like how the original 1993 "Jurassic Park," the film might start off all jubilant and fun until somebody unleashes the hybrid dinosaur which scientists have created to kill – and possibly eat – anything that moves.
Running, screaming, and later-realized regret soon follows.
In the meantime, the film has only shown the full 30-second trailer and there are already dinosaur enthusiasts pointing out the glaring inaccuracies it presumably showed.
Brian Switek, author of "My Beloved Brontosaurus" took to his Twitter to point out how good an idea it is to give a hybrid dinosaur thumbs.
"From trailer, looks like #JurassicWorld's Big Bad has thumbs. Yeah. A huge, smart, carnivorous dinosaur with thumbs sounds like a GREAT idea," he wrote.
It wasn't just Switek though, as zoologists were disappointed by the lack of dinosaurs with feathers, forked tongue-tips, and the fact that the movie couldn't differentiate between a crane fly and a mosquito (the one trapped in the amber).
The trailer features a boy who goes on an adventure in the Jurassic World theme park where, as expected, things quickly go down south as a genetically modified dinosaur runs amock in the theme park, where only Pratt is there to save the day.
