'Justice for Peanut': 5 reactions to killing of celebrity squirrel seized by New York authorities
Donald Trump Jr.
The eldest of Trump’s children, Donald Trump Jr., declared, “Justice for Peanut!” during the Sunday rally in Sanford, North Carolina, where he joined Sen. JD Vance. Both criticized the focus on a pet squirrelinstead of the issue of illegal immigration.
"Our government will let in 16,000 rapists, 13,000 murderers, 600,000 criminals across our border, but if someone has a pet squirrelwithout a permit, they'll go in there and kill the squirrel,” Trump’s son stated.
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement data, as of this past July 21, nearly 650,000 criminal illegal aliens were on the agency’s Non-Detained Docket. ICE Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner sent lawmakers a letter about the data in late September.
As House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green, a Republican, noted in a statement last month, ICE documented the criminal history of the illegal aliens on the NDD before releasing them into the United States. Around 15,000 of the individuals had been charged or convicted of murder, more than 20,000 of sexual assault and over 100,000 of assault.
