'Justice League' News, Release Date: New Footage Shows Batman Recruiting Warriors to Join His Team
Fans still have more than a month to wait before "Justice League's" theater release, but the anticipation for the movie is already at its peak. This week, Warner Bros. released three new promos, as it ramps up its marketing efforts for the film.
Titled "Coming," the first spot features some never-before-seen footage from the upcoming film, which features Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. "Coming" features the banding together of the mightiest DC heroes and highlights the hilarity of Miller's character.
The two other spots feature more of the new villain, Steppenwolf, played by Ciaran Hinds, as well as his Parademons. One scene from the new promos puts the spotlight on Cavill's character, who was missing in action in the final moments of "Batman v Superman."
Other cast members of "Justice League" are Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amber Heard as Mera, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Diana Lane as Martha Kent, Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
In the official synopsis, it was revealed that the film would follow Bruce Wayne as he enlists the help of Diana Prince in facing a new enemy. As Batman and Wonder Woman try to fortify their forces, they recruit a team of meta-humans to join them against Steppenwolf and the Parademons. Although they are the mightiest in the DC Extended Universe, the synopsis reveals that it will not be easy for them to beat the newly awakened threat.
Directed by Zack Snyder and written by Joss Whedon and Chris Terrio, "Justice League" is set to hit theaters on Nov. 17.
