'Justice League: Part 1' Movie News: Marvel's Goblin Actor Joins DC's Upcoming Movie
Warner Bros. has included actor Willem Dafoe in the cast of the upcoming DC movie, "Justice League: Part 1." Although the role he will exactly breathe life into remains uncertain at this point in time, The Hollywood Reporter said he will be on the good side.
Dafoe's inclusion in the movie highlights two changes in his career. First, after playing the role of the villain Goblin in Tobey Maguire's "Spider-Man," he will now be playing a character who sides with those who defend and fight for the oppressed. Secondly, he will now be part of a DC movie, the rival of Marvel, which incarnated Spider-Man and his Goblin character in the comic books.
According to the Nerdist, in the event that Dafoe plays a regular good guy in "Justice League," he might play the role of King Faraday, a top secret agent in the DC Universe. The website pointed out that, in the "Justice League" animated series, the character is a government's liaison to the league.
On the other hand, in the event that he plays a superhero, the Nerdist opined that he can be a perfect choice for the role of the first Green Lantern, Allan Scott, or Metron. However, with the absence of any reliable information, everything is a speculation at this point in time.
After the worldwide promotion of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," the cameras already started grinding for "Justice League: Part 1" in a London Studio last April 11. As of this writing, the only confirmed DC superheroes who will be part of the movie are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg, as Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, and Ray Fisher, reprise their "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" roles respectively. Actress Amber Heard will also be a part of the movie as Mera, wife of Aquaman and the Queen of the Atlantis.
"Justice League: Part 1" is slated for a Nov. 17, 2017 release date.
