'Justice League' Release Date, News: Is Superman Going to Be in the Movie?

Almost everyone agrees that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was a bit of a letdown given the exceedingly gloomy atmosphere, but if it did anything right, that is to create an inning for an even bigger DC film, "Justice League." As such, many are wondering if there is any chance the Man of Steel will still be in the movie.

It can be recalled that Superman (Henry Cavill) died during an encounter with Doomsday, and was laid to rest. The ending scenes, however, in which dirt was seen rising from his casket, were giving hints that maybe, just maybe, he could be returning back to life.

In the special Comic-Con footage last year, Bruce (Ben Affleck) and Diana (Gal Gadot) were seen looking for more metahumans to join the cause. This was something that they decided to do at the end of "Dawn of Justice" but unfortunately, no glimpse of Superman was seen.

Also, a photo was tweeted by Ray Fisher who will be playing the role of Cyborg, where everyone is on scene except Superman. This just fuels the anticipation even more.

Director Zach Snyder's statement to Empire only added to the ambiguity and suspense of his presence. "Superman does play a big part in this movie. His presence, and lack of presence, are big story points," Snyder says.

Perhaps an upcoming poster for the film would straighten things out. According to Comic Book, there are speculations that a promotional item for the film would be released sometime in June, which could be before or even during "Wonder Woman" on June 2, 2017. With a few months left after Gadot's solo movie, it may be the best time to do it.

For now, fans will have to wait and see, and hopefully the film would be a lot better than "Batman vs. Superman." "Justice League" is slated for a Nov. 11, 2017 release.
