Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Break Up? Star Addresses Baby Rumors at MTV EMAs
Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber addressed recent rumors that he fathered a baby with 20-year-old Mariah Yeater after his win for best pop video Sunday at MTV's EMAs.
In his second address to the crowd after also winning the award for best male video, the 17-year-old singer thanked his fans for supporting him despite the rumors and speculation that have been swirling for the past few days.
"There's been a lot of crap talked about me lately, but I've pulled through!" Bieber said.
Yeater, who is asking Bieber to take a paternity test and pay child support, claims the three-month-old child was conceived in a brief sexual encounter after the pop star's concert back in Oct. 2010 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Yeater, who had a front row seat, claims a security guard approached her asking if she would like to meet the star, and soon after meeting backstage, Bieber lost his virginity to the then 19-year-old woman.
Fox News is reporting that Yeater was on food stamps when she acquired the tickets and has "never filed a tax return with the State of California nor the IRS." In addition, according to the publication, Yeater lists 11th grade as her highest level of education, has been unemployed since March of 2011 and receives $500 a month in public assistance and claimed an average paycheck of $125 over the past year.
The New York Post reported that Bieber is not the only one Yeater has accused of fathering her child; she also implicated her former boyfriend, John Terranova, though that claim was proven false.
"I know it's not Justin Bieber," Terranova told the New York Post. "She just wants money. It's a scam."
Bieber and his team have vehemently denied the allegations, and the pop star told NBC's "Today" show that he has never met Yeater.
The pop star has agreed to a paternity test to end the rumors.
Fans have been wondering if the sex allegations against Bieber would adversely affect his relationship with girlfriend Selena Gomez.
According to RadarOnline, Bieber has been telling his buddies that he and Gomez are still going strong despite rumors of a breakup.
"They’re still together. Selena simply left the country because she had a scheduled appearance at the MTV EMA’s she’s hosting. She is standing by her man," a source told RadarOnlnie.
