Justin Bieber Arrested in Canada on Vacation With Selena Gomez

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have an on-and-off relationship, but it looks like things are going smoothly for the pair as they have been spotted in Bieber's hometown in Canada spending a romantic Labor Day weekend, complete with some horseback riding and cruising on ATVs.

However, the couple's peaceful holiday came to an abrupt end when Bieber was arrested on Friday on suspicion of dangerous driving and assault after his ATV collided with a minivan. It is reported that Gomez was with Bieber when the crash happened.

Bieber and a person in the minivan reportedly engaged in a physical altercation. TMZ reports that the man in the minivan was a paparazzo. Bieber was released on the promise that he had to return for a court date on Sept. 29.

The LA Times is reporting that Bieber also has a Sept. 8 court date in a Toronto court related to a charge of assaulting a limo driver back in December.

In an interview with Hollywoodlife, Bieber's lawyer Roy Black said that he blames the paparazzi for what happened.

"Justin, like many celebrities, are continually harassed by the paparazzi," said Black. "Their privacy is shredded and these incidents can become dangerous."

"While the public is not particularly sympathetic, they must realize how difficult these cameramen make their lives. So I am not surprised there is a conflict. It happens quite often and as long as the paparazzi are highly paid for their photographs, they will continue," he added.

Meanwhile, Bieber posted his own take on the incident on his Twitter account last Tuesday.

"There should be laws against what I just experienced. We should have learned from the death of Princess Diana," he posted.
