A video of the incident by TMZ showed the "Love Yourself" singer arguing with a man bigger built than him. The man is then seen tapping Bieber on the head to which Justin returns with a strong blow to the man's face.
The guy fought back but they ended up being stopped by a couple of people who were with them that night. TMZ noted that the video clip was taken at around 11 p.m.
Nobody has clear answers on what started the scuffle but the same report said that Bieber was in Cleveland for the NBA Finals Game 3 and he was seen wearing a Cleveland Cavaliers shirt. Many are guessing the incident may have been caused by trash talk. Perhaps it was related to the 2016 NBA Eastern Conference Finals series in which the Cavs beat the Toronto Raptors who are basedin Canada and Bieber being Canadian. Most likely not, but the rumor mill continues.
Daily Mail noted that a guy named Lamont Richmond posted a Facebook video the following day saying he was the guy whom Bieber punched in the face. He was wearing a hoodie as he told his side of the story adding that he was just simply asking for an autograph from the singer when the latter lost his patience.
As of this writing, Richmond has taken down the post after it was picked up by various entertainment websites.
On Biebier's side of the story, the "Sorry" singer has been vocal about not wanting to grant photo ops nor autographs. "If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I'm not gonna take a picture I'm done taking pictures," he earlier said on his Instagram account.
Observers at the scene mentioned in the Daily Mail report that there were a lot of people who were request for selfies and photos from him which could have been the reason why the Bieber got agitated and flared up. However whether this played any role in the altercation is still obscure.
Previously the singer in his Instagram account explained that fans and the public do not anymore consider him as "human" but rather he felt like an animal in the zoo. Bieber recognized the fact that a lot of people will get disappointed but noted that he does not owe anybody a photo.
Several outlets are reporting that Bieber took to his Instagram and posted a selfie noting that he did not have a single scratch during the incident. The post was later on taken down. Perhaps, he sure wanted everyone to know he fought a good fight with the big man.
