Justin Bieber Fills Valentine's Day Wish of Sick Fan
For Valentine's Day this year, Justin Bieber has fulfilled the wish of a 6-year-old cancer patient by "marrying" her.
Avalanna Routh is suffering from an aggressive form of cancer and started a campaign on Facebook to fulfill her dream of meeting the 17-year-old pop star, along with her pretend marriage to him.
At nine months old, Routh was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer called AT/RT. She has undergone numerous surgeries since that time, and in August, she joined the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund.
Bieber heard about Routh and got involved in fulfilling her wish. Monday he flew his fan from Boston to New York to meet him for a special Valentine's Day.
In a photo posted his his Twitter account Monday, Bieber is seen sitting with a young fan cited at "Mrs. Bieber." Routh's pretend marriage was reported by Boston's sports radio station WEEI.
Routh along with her parents Aileen and Cameron sat down with Bieber and decorated cupcakes, played board games, and signed autographs for one another.
"Hangin out with a special little girl. #MrsBieber," wrote Bieber on Twitter.
Afterward, the "Baby" singer tweeted, "That was one of the best things I have ever done. She was AWESOME! Feeling really inspired now! #MrsBieber."
He added, "Got some really great ideas from today. ways to #giveback- #MrsBieber really inspired me. really."
When the radio station asked young Routh how long she had been a fan of Bieber's, the six-year-old said, "Seven years, no, 80 years!"
Bieber is very charitably active through his "Believe" drive which includes Pencils of Promise, as well as countless other humanitarian efforts. He is currently in the studio working on his new album, "Believe," which is rumored to include artists such as Drake, Usher, and Lil Wayne. The singer will turn 18 on March 1.
Also reported this Valentine's Day, Bieber has bestowed girlfriend Selena Gomez with a ring. The former Disney actress posted a photo of a diamond ring with a "J" on it on her Instagram account with the caption, "I'm finally home" earlier this week.
