Justin Bieber 'Girlfriend' Chantel Jeffries Slams Media Over 'False' Criminal History Reports
Chantel Jeffries, the woman rumored to be Justin Bieber's new girlfriend, recently spoke out about reports claiming she has a violent criminal history.

The self-described student and model, 19, was thrust into the spotlight on Thursday after Bieber, 19, was arrested in Miami on suspicion of DUI, drag racing and resisting arrest without violence. Jeffries, who partied with the pop singer hours before he was arrested and witnessed his arrest, claims reports claiming she is a violent criminal are "false."

"I have been overwhelmed by the negative attention I have recently received in the media," Jeffries said in a statement to NBC news.
"My family and I are particularly upset about the false accusations which have been published concerning my criminal history," she added.

On Jan. 23 various media outlets claimed to have uncovered Jeffries' criminal past before releasing a mug shot photo dating back to 2011. One media outlet claimed the model was once arrested for assault with a deadly weapon in addition to traffic violations, including reckless driving.
"For the record, I have not been arrested five times as has been stated in the media, nor am I guilty of physically assaulting anyone, in any way shape or form," she said.
The teen accompanied Bieber on a brief trip to Panama shortly after his release last week and she continues to garner public interest. She complained about the recent media scrutiny and admitted that it is taking an emotional toll.
"I am a full time student who had enjoyed a normal lifestyle, free from public scrutiny and criticism, until now," she said.
"What has happened to me is wrong. I want people in general, and the media in particular, to consider the impact their disparaging comments have on the individual; especially when their comments are inaccurate," she added.
