Justin Bieber Instagram Photo: Singer Clarifies Picture of Smoking Cigarrettes

Justin Bieber is setting the record straight, he does not smoke cigarettes despite him posting an image of himself with one in his mouth.

Bieber, the 20-year-old Canadian crooner, took to his Instagram account to share an image of himself with a cigarette in his mouth in a side-by-side photograph with the late 1950s actor James Dean. Although the young singer imitated Dean's iconic pose with the rolled tobacco hanging from his lips, he made it clear that he did not share in the late actor's habit.

"This is James Dean inspired," Bieber captioned his Instagram image. "Don't ask me if I smoke ciggys cuz I don't."'

While Dean may have developed a bad boy image in the 1950s movie "Rebel Without a Cause," Bieber has been under media scrutiny for his own seemingly rebellious antics lately. Most recently, Bieber was filmed being seemingly confrontational during a deposition earlier this month.

The singer was questioned for over four hours about a civil suit filed by a photographer who is alleging he was assaulted by the singer's bodyguard. While reports surfaced about Bieber walking out of the deposition at the mention of his on-and-off again girlfriend Selena Gomez, TMZ recently released a video giving an account of the singer's behavior, which could be deemed as disrespectful and comical among other things.

Bieber told the prosecution that he did not have to listen to anything the lawyer had to say, called the male prosecutor Katie Couric, winked at the camera filming him and even blatantly laughed when being questioned. After his deposition video made headlines, Bieber took to Twitter to post a cryptic message that may be in defense of his actions, which were only a few minutes worth of the proceedings that lasted over four hours.

"Love how some people love to twist and justify the horrible action of others. We all have a right to defend ourselves and feel harassed," Bieber Tweeted Monday. "They can't break us. They can't get us down. We are too strong. We love too much. #mybeliebers."
