Justin Bieber Officially an Adult? Singer Drinks Beer, Defends Kim Kardashian, Invests Money
Justin Bieber has officially left his teen years behind and may officially be presenting the world his adult image after recently admitting to drinking beer while defending Kim Kardashian and being named one of the most powerful people in the world.
Bieber, 18-year-old Canadian crooner, decided to showcase his maturity in the June issue of GQ magazine in which he talks about staying in control while delighting in an occasional alcoholic beverage.
"For me, it's just like, I like to be in control of myself. I mean, I've had a beer, like, before," Bieber admitted in the magazine. "But I never get out of control."
The singer seems to be more confident than ever, telling GQ magazine that he "never made a bad song." Although he has been known for his musical talents, the singer recently told Forbes magazine that he is starting to also handle his own business.
"I do calls every week with my business manager and my lawyer," he said. "Each week I'm learning something about my business and what I need to know for my career."
The singer told GQ about one of his toughest lessons, not trusting anybody in the entertainment industry.
"I mean, I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can't trust anyone in this business. That's what's sad," Bieber said. "You can't trust anybody. I learned the hard way."
Still, Bieber has been spotted connecting with new groups of friends in high-profile circles. Earlier this month, Bieber carried the belt of Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his winning fight against Miguel Cotto among the boxer's closest friends and advisers. Despite polarizing public opinion of Mayweather, Bieber defended the boxer earlier this year.
"Every time he goes to a fight now, people are like, 'He's going to lose this time,' and then he wins," Bieber said of the fighter in an interview with V Magazine in January. "And the next time they say, 'He's going to lose,' again ...Every time he wins. And people aren't ever going to know that he's a champ."
Most recently the singer defended Kardashian, reality television star and friend, after a member of his entourage poked fun at her white wardrobe, according to Us Weekly.
"You guys are so mean, bro," Bieber reportedly told his tour manager Allison Kaye. "People say she doesn't do anything; she actually does do stuff. She works hard."
Although people are used to seeing the 18-year-old work hard on his music, the singer who was recently named the third most powerful celebrity in Forbes' June cover story will reportedly build upon the $108 million that he earned over the past two years by investing in technology startup companies.
"The tech aspect is just fun for me," Bieber told Forbes. "I'm not going to invest in something I don't like; I have to believe in the product."
While Bieber seems to be growing up before the world's eyes, he admits that his journey over the past two years has been unbelievable.
"It was just crazy to me because I didn't really think that it was possible," Bieber told Forbes. "I lived in such a small town and things like that didn't really happen."
