Justin Bieber Slams 'Baby Daddy' Claims
Teen pop star Justin Bieber is adamantly denying allegations that he fathered a baby with a 20-year old fan, Mariah Yeater.
He inadvertently shot down the claims on Twitter with a tweet that said, “All the rumors…the gossip…I’m gonna focus on the positives…the music.”
According to a paternity suit filed Monday, a 17-year-old Bieber impregnated a young woman during a concert in Los Angeles late last year.
Mariah Yeater, 20, filed court papers Oct. 31 making the claim that Bieber is the father of her three-month-old child. Yeater’s suit has the potential to expand to a statutory rape case, as the mega tween idol was 16 at the time.
In a separate tweet, Bieber wrote, “So, I’m going to ignore the rumors…and focus on what is real. An opportunity to help by doing what I love. Judge me on the music! Love ya’ll!
In her complaint, Yeater wrote: “Immediately, it was obvious that we were mutually attracted to one another, and we began to kiss. Shortly thereafter, Justin Bieber suggested that I go with him to a private place where we could be alone. I agreed to go with him and on the walk to a private area, he told me he wanted to make love and this was going to be his first time."
The fan claimed Bieber, a self-professed Christian, lost his virginity the night she was allegedly stopped by a security guard who escorted her backstage after asking if she wanted to meet the pop star at the Staples Center on Oct. 25, 2010, where Bieber had just preformed a sold out show.
Bieber’s press rep also unyieldingly shot down the claims. In a statement for RadarOnline, he said, "While we haven't yet seen the lawsuit, it's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."
California’s age of consent is 18. A hearing on the matter is schedule for Dec. 15. Bieber released a holiday album called Under the Mistletoe Tuesday.
