K. Michelle Credits God for New Show, Leaving 'Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta'
K. Michelle, singer-songwriter and star of "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta," is leaving the show after its second season and crediting God for giving her a spin-off series on VH1 network.
K. Michelle, born Kimberly Pate, recently signed to Warner Bros records and reportedly wants to focus on her budding music career instead of the dramatic storylines that she has become synonymous with on "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta."
At a recent concert performance in the District of Columbia, K. Michelle let her fans know that she God has brought her past the "Love & Hip Hop" franchise. She also let it be known that she planned to star in a new reality television series.
"God is just bringing me to a whole different place. My mouth is still bad. I drink and act a fool," K.Michelle said at the concert, according to Vibe Vixen reports. "But, I just don't think that [Love & Hip Hop Atlanta] is where I need to be. I do have my own show coming on VH1. You guys are gonna like that one a lot. You really are."
Last month the singer seemed to allude to leaving "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" when she spoke to Atlanta radio station 94.5 FM.
"Yeah it's time to go. I just feel like God's just really blessing me," K. Michelle told the radio station. "I just feel like I can't keep putting myself in negative situations that's going to make me want to slap somebody."
The singer has engaged in verbal and physical altercations with "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" cast members and rappers Karlie Redd and Rasheeda last season, while the previews for season two show her continuing to argue with the latter along with former friend Mimi Faust.
However, the singer has been adamant about trying to make some changes, and took to Twitter to express her desire to let God help her do just that.
"Who knows what GOD has in store 4me," K. Michelle tweeted. "All I know is I'm tired of being the K. michelle that has to curse everybody out. I've found my smile."
