Kanye West Appreciates French Paparazzi; Praises Photographers in Paris With Kim Kardashian
Kanye West may have issues with the paparazzi in Los Angeles, but he was open to making peace with the french photographers looking to take his picture during Paris Fashion Week recently.
The 36-year-old rapper was in Paris with is girlfriend Kim Kardashian recently. There he instructed the international paparazzi about doing things differently than the Los Angeles paparazzi, who he has battled in the public eye.
"Don't ask questions, just take the video. Don't do like the L.A [paparazzi]," West told photographers in a video that appears on YouTube. "I like how you guys move out here."
West went on to detail what he appreciated about the international photographers.
"You got total respect for yourself. You have respect for the people that you're photographing," West told the French paparazzi. "You also take time off at eight o'clock. You're not around people's houses. I just really appreciate and respect that."
The rapper even went as far as shaking the paparazzi's hand.
"And I understand that you have to make a living. Let me shake your hand," West said. "I appreciate that."
West has a different relationship with photographers in Los Angeles and has been charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft for allegedly attacking a photographer last July, according to reports. While the photographer decided to file a civil lawsuit against West, the rapper is insisting that he was only protecting himself.
"[West believed] his safety was in immediate danger," the rapper's response to the civil suit states, according to TMZ. "[Kanye] responded to this assault by doing only those acts that were reasonably necessary for his self-defense…"
The rapper was also recently ambushed by the paparazzi at 4 a.m., which caused him to lash out at the photographers after they asked how things were going.
"Don't say anything to me," West said, according to X17 Online. "You are outside my house at 4 a.m. telling me, 'How's it going?' It's not going good. ... Y'all here to make money off of us. That's how it's going."
