Kanye West Lectures At Harvard, Says Design Can Save The World
Kanye West recently lectured to the Harvard Graduate School of Design recently where he spoke about utopia and changing the world.
As part of his company DONDA Design Lecture series, the 36-year-old rap mogul who studied design spoke about saving the world ahead of his "Yeezus" tour stop in nearby Boston.
"Just wanted to tell you guys: I really do believe that the world can be saved through design, and everything needs to actually be 'architected,'" West said, according to US Weekly reports. "And this is the reason why even some of the first DONDA employees were architects that started designing T-shirts instead of buildings. But just to see the work actually be actualized."
West went on to tell design students about his belief in achieving utopia.
"I believe that utopia is actually possible. But we're led by the least noble, the least dignified, the least tasteful, the dumbest, and the most political," West said, according to US Weekly. "So in no way am I a politician - I'm usually at my best politically incorrect and very direct. I really appreciate you guys' willingness to learn and hone your craft, and not be lazy about creation."
West's fiancee and "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian supported him by accompanying him at the lecture and tweeting about the experience.
"My baby speaking at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, (SIC)" Kardashian wrote.
West previously spoke about how fashion and design bonded the pair and made them influential in society today.
"She's been spending her whole check on clothes since she was 16, just like me," West told San Francisco radio station 106 KMEL previously. "And that's the reason why both of us are the most influential…I think me and my girl are extremely influential greatly due to the paparazzi."
