Kanye West New Album 2015 News: Title 'So Help Me God' and Other Details Leaked on Twitter
American rapper Kanye West revealed the title of his seventh album on social media Sunday, a move considered unconventional for the controversial artist.
Kanye West took to Twitter on March 1 to reveal the title of his upcoming album, a seventh studio release named "So Help Me God." His posts included the artwork to appear on the album cover.
West's followers and the media speculated on the understated announcement, noting that the rapper-songwriter-record producer-fashion designer was not in the habit of quietly promoting his work on social media.
West earlier mentioned this upcoming album saying it would be different from his previous 2013 release, "Yeezus," which he described on "The Breakfast Club at Power 105.1 as a "protest to music."
According to the eccentric and easily provoked artist, "So Help Me God" contained elements that embraced joy and feel good music, and is meant to be "of service to the people."
West also hinted at an artistic shift from the spiky, synthesizer-heavy and industrial "Yeezus" sound, adding that he may be including through-provoking lyrics on black men enslaved by the fashion industry, his outlook on fame, and drug abuse. He further mentioned how becoming a father had changed the way he looked at life and his music.
This new seventh release will include the song he wrote as an ode to his daughter, North West titled "Only One," a first of what is reported to be several collaborations with Beatles icon, Sir Paul McCarthy completed in a single session that West describes as an unconscious moment where he heard his late mother, Dr. Donda West speaking to him through his daughter.
The album will also be including West's other songs, "All Day" and "Wolves."
Last month, West announced "So Help Me God" was 80 percent complete, and that he would try to release it at the soonest possible time.
