Kanye West Paparazzi Attack Caused By Fears for Baby North? Rapper 'Trying to Warn' Them

Kanye West fans were left stunned after the rapper lunged at a paparazzi photographer on Friday and a new report claims he was simply trying to teach the press a lesson about "messing" with his family.

Video footage of the alleged attack shows West, 36, lunging at the photographer, who is widely known as "Dano," for being pushy and repeatedly asking questions despite the rapper's request that he "not speak." Although the new Dad could potentially face Felony charges over the incident, sources claim the rapper is hoping the attack is viewed as a warning to the paparazzi.

"He's trying to warn them now," a source told HollywoodLife.com adding that West hopes the paparazzi "learned their lesson."

On June 15 West's girlfriend of one-year, Kim Kardashian, gave birth to the couple's first child, baby North West. The "New Slaves" rapper is reportedly prepared to do whatever it takes to protect his daughter by ensuring photographers never hound them in public.

"It's going to get real ugly when he wants to take North to the park, or walk her to get her first ice cream cone and a mob of those cameras start going off," the source warned.

"He's not about to let his little girl go through all of that and be scared. He's warning them now and he's serious," the source reiterated. "He could really hurt someone for [messing] with his family, especially his newborn."

Police sources reportedly told TMZ that Dano sustained injuries during Friday's attack and subsequently the photographer is said to be pressing charges against West. The rapper is reportedly suspected of felony attempted robbery pending an ongoing police investigation, according to the New York Daily News.

On Thursday it claimed that West is considering an out-of-court settlement with Dano in order to avoid the potential legal woes, TMZ reported.
