Kanye West: Rapper Refuses to Work in US, Despite Kardashian's Pregnancy?
Kanye West has been living in Paris since February while his pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian remains in Los Angeles and a new report claims to have uncovered why.
West, 35, has received widespread criticism for reportedly spending more time away from Kardashian than he has spent with her since the couple announced the pregnancy in January. The reality star, 31, is currently seven months pregnant yet West has reportedly become increasingly withdrawn in recent months.
"He barely talks to her, claiming he's too busy recording in Paris. Kanye refuses to record in the United States because he claims he's more 'on point' in Paris," a source told Star magazine.
"He told Kim that his mind is so tangled with baby thoughts and fears that it's messing with his creativity," the source went on.
One report claims that Kardashian had only spent a total of 18 days with the rapper by April 1. Most of the time the couple has spent together has allegedly only occured because Kardashian has flown out to Paris for West.
While the pair is said to be still in a relationship, some suggest that the couple is headed for a split. which is allegedly worrying Kardashian.
"Kim is scared she'll be left to raise the baby alone — or, worse, that she'll be back in court, battling him for custody," the source said.
Some reports claim West has been consciously distancing himself from Kardashian in a bid to protect his image.
In January, E-Poll Senior Director of Marketing and Communications Randy Parker claimed Kardashian, who is six months along in her pregnancy, had affected West's reputation.
"He was starting to bounce back from [the 2009 VMA incident with Taylor Swift]. There does appear there is some sort of fallback or blowback from him hooking up with Kim," Parker told the Huffington Post.
"One of the things we measure is an attribute called 'Overexposed.' We find that people use it as a general way of saying, 'I've had it with you, You've just gone a little too far,'" he explained, adding, "I'm guessing his overexposed score is quite high."
