Kanye West to Premier New 'Cruel Summer' Film at Cannes Festival

It seems like rapper and producer Kanye West has been making headlines for everything but his music as of late.

Today that all changes, since Mr. West has announced that his long-awaited G.O.O.D. Music compilation album will be named "Cruel Summer" and he will also premier his film with the same title at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

"Cruel Summer" is West's official directorial debut and the movie will hit the festival on May 23 as a out-of-competition entry.

The film is described as a "seven-screen viewing experience," and it will be shown with a physical art installation as well.

"Cruel Summer" will be open for two days following its premier in France.

Tickets for the film will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

West also released a preview poster for the film.

The rapper seems to have employed some of his artists for the movie including Kid Cudi, who is billed on the "Cruel Summer" poster by his real name, Scott Mescudi.

And that's not the only debut West will be making in the coming weeks.

The rapper also has been seen in the coming attractions for the upcoming season of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

Kim Kardashian commented on West appearing on the show and how it applies to their relationship.

"I want to show my life," she said, pointing out that she won't be talking about their relationship during the show, but will just let the cameras roll. "If we are having dinner and he does show up, I'm sure we're not going to go, 'Stop the cameras!"

The two have been engaged in a very public relationship just months after Kardashian's divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries.
