Kanye West's Yeezus Falls 80% After Second Week on the Charts

Kanye West's Yeezus album fell significantly on the charts during its second week out, making for one of the biggest drops of all time.

Not since Madonna's MDNA has an album fallen by 80% in its second week reports the Guardian, making it the fourth largest drop according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Yeezus went down by 54% in the UK, moving from No. 1 to 6.

The album debuted on June 18 at No. 1 in America and the UK, and is now behind Wale's The Gifted and J. Coles's, Born Sinner.

According to Billboard the average weekly album drop off is 69%, with Kanye's last album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy dropping 78% in 2010.

The only albums with bigger drops were: MDNA which fell by 87% in 2012, Lady Gaga's Born This Way by 84% in 2011, and Mac Miller's Blue Slide Park by 83% in 2011 which sent him from No. 1 to 24.

Despite Kanye's claims to not want to release a single for the album, Def Jam will be releasing a radio cut of "Black Skinhead" with a video in the works perhaps in order to try and stop the decent.

Perhaps another key factor in West's fall from No. 1 was the release of his mentor Jay-Z's, Magna Carter: Holy Grail, which was rumored to be another classic release by the hip-hop legend, peaking up people's interest.

West's Yeezus debuted with 327,000 copies sold. The rapper's album boasts the third-largest sales week of 2013 thus far, according to Billboard.

The only albums to sell more than Yeezus this year was Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience and Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. Although Yeezus was a top seller this year, it West's lowest selling album to date.
