Kardashians Land $40 Million Reality TV Deal, Largest in History

The Kardashian family has just landed the largest reality TV deal in history after signing a new contract with the E! network, despite reports that their reported $500 million empire is crumbling.

The controversial family will be paid more than $40 million to do three more seasons of their reality TV show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," according to TMZ.

The majority of their paycheck will be evenly distributed among the elder sisters Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and parents Kris and Bruce Jenner, while the younger siblings Kendall, Kylie and Rob will equally be paid less.

Boyfriend to Kourtney, Scott Disick and husband to Khloe, Lamar Odom have landed separate deals that are on a lower pay grade compared to their better halves and even Kourtney and Disick's son, Mayson will get a cut all for appearing on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

The $40-plus million deal does not include product endorsements and other items associated with the show, which means the family will likely generate even more millions for other deals from their various clothing lines and endless endorsement deals.

The lucrative deal is surprising to some critics, who insist that the Kardashian empire is crumbling following a string of controversies that have tarnished the brand.

Although they were once considered America's most famous family, the "Keeping Up With The Kardashian" characters were blacklisted following Kim's 72-day marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries, according to The New York Post.

It was reported that Kim, who was once paid up to $600,000 for New Years Eve appearances at Tao nightclub in Las Vegas, had become so unpopular after her divorce filing that elite business owners and Public Relations officials now want nothing to do with the Kardashians.

"Kim Kardashian would be crushing to us ..."I'd pay her $600,000 personally not to go to Red Egg," Red Egg restaurant owner, Travis Bass previously told the Post.

Manhattan publicist R. Couri Hay, who organized paid Kardashian visits to elite events in 2008 and 2010, said that the Kardashians lack the same appeal that they once had.

"I'm bored with them," a candid Hay said.

The Kardashians have received widespread backlash ever since Kim filed for divorce from Humphries on Halloween after the estranged couple's lavish nuptials with critics including Humphries himself calling the wedding a stunt for financial gain, according to Star Magazine.

The Kardashians sparked public outrage after it was revealed that a number of Kardashian products are reportedly being produced in Chinese sweatshops where workers as young as 16 are subject to excruciating working conditions and face inhumane treatment.

"The Kardashians are in bed with some pretty bad people ... Not only are celebrities like the Kardashians taking advantage of these workers, they are holding hands with a government that spits on democracy and women's rights," executive director of the Institute for Global Labor and Human Rights, Charles Kernaghan, told Star magazine.
