Kari Jobe Reaches Billboard Top 10 with New Album
Christian singer and songwriter Kari Jobe has reached number 10 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart with her latest album, "Where I Find You."
Jobe's sophomore album was released just last week and has already sold more than 24,600 copies. "Where I Find You" has also received positive critical acclaim as it lands at number five on the Overall Digital Albums chart, as well as at the top of Billboard's Christian/Gospel-Mainstream chart this week.
The Texas native's first single off the new album, "We Are," has helped its retail success. The song has been viewed over 560,000 times on YouTube. Watch "We Are" on the site here.
Jobe has been touring the U.S. with her Winter Jam 2012 Tour where over 165,000 tickets were sold within the first 14 shows.
On Twitter, the 30-year-old artist describes herself as a "worshipper, girly-girl, longboard skateboarder, world traveller, random tweeter, songwriter" on her account bio. She also adds, "I love life and Jesus."
"Where I Find You" was produced by Matt Bronleewe as well as Ed Cash, who was also behind the production of Jobe's breakout self-titled album from 2009.
Jobe remains one of the most respected and well known female worship leaders in the U.S., and she has earned two Dove Awards for her musical work. After studying at Oral Roberts University and Christ for the Nations and Dallas Baptist University, Jobe earned degrees in both psychology and Pastoral Ministries.
In addition to singing, Jobe has partnered with the A21 Campaign, an organization dedicated to abolishing human trafficking.
This week the singer visits Indiana, Kentucky, and North Carolina on her tour.
