Kat Von D Celebrates 30th Birthday Today
Famed tattoo artist Kat Von D is celebrating her 30th birthday on Friday by removing herself from Twitter for the day.
"Gonna enjoy a full day of silence and meditation tomorrow without texting, tweeting, or emails," wrote Von D on Thursday. "Wishing everyone a beautiful night!"
Her fans have also posted on the social media site about their wishes for the star's birthday.
"Happy Birthday for the amazing Kat Von D," wrote one Twitter user. "Best wishes and many accomplishments for your life!"
While the tattooed celebrity vowed to stay "silent" on her birthday, Von D changed her mind.
Friday, the birthday girl posted, "Bikram yoga sesh w @allittotheb and @catalogsnforms - not a bad way to start the day! Xo!"
Von D has become one of the most sought-after tattoo artists in the world after appearing on the successful TLC reality television series "LA Ink." The artist as well as her tattoo parlor has fans on years-long waiting lists. The 30-year-old got her first tattoo at age 14, but today it is hard to count how many she has inked all over her body.
Von D has her own parlor, High Voltage Tattoo, located in West Hollywood, Calif.
In addition to tattooing, Von D has created and launched a makeup line for Sephora which includes fragrances and has penned two successful books.
The star of "LA Ink" has remained mostly out of the limelight following her split from motorcycle magnate Jesse James.
Von D announced her broken engagement to James via Twitter last summer, writing, "I'm no longer w Jesse."
The pair had become engaged six months earlier, just months after James' divorce from actress Sandra Bullock in 2010.
Von D continued, "And out of respect for him, his family and myself, that's all the info I'd like to share. Thanks for respecting that."
Many reports speculated the James had been unfaithful to Von D, as his divorce from Bullock was over matters of infidelity. Von D, who is releasing an album as well as a book in upcoming months, seemed to confirm the cheating rumors via Twitter late last year.
"No, my next book will not be about my cheating ex. There are way too many positive and inspiring things to write about instead," posted Von D, most likely referring to James.
No announcements have been made about when the new album or book by Von D will be released.
