Kate Middleton Appearance Set for September Following Baby Prince George's Birth

Kate Middleton has not been seen in public since the day after her son Prince George was born, when she appeared with husband Prince William to show off their new baby to the world, but that could all change next month.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their first child on July 22, and just one day later, the rest of the world caught a glimpse of the new prince and his parents during a brief public appearance.

In recent weeks, Prince William has attended public events while his wife stayed home with their new baby. However, the royal couple will both attend an awards dinner for a wildlife conservation organization on Sept. 12, according to ABC News.

The Duke and Duchess would be guests of honor at the event hosted by the Tusk Trust, a charity based in the U.K. which Prince William sponsors, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite Thursday's reports, palace officials have not yet confirmed that the Duchess will attend the awards ceremony, but said, "an operational note will follow in due course."

Ahead of Prince George's arrival, the Duchess had not been seen in public since June's annual Trooping the Color ceremony honoring Queen Elizabeth's birthday.

Middleton, 31, has been spending the past few weeks at her parents' home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, England - about 50 miles away from London.

The world had long awaited the arrival of Prince George Alexander Louis, who is now third in line to the British throne after his grandfather, Prince Charles, and his father, Prince William.

Following Prince George's birth, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thanked London's St. Mary's Hospital for the "tremendous care of the three of us has received."

"We know it has been a very busy period for the hospital and we would like to thank everyone- staff, patients and visitors- for their understanding during this time," the joint statement added, according to the palace.

Earlier this week, William provided an update on his newborn son.

"He's pretty loud, but of course very good looking," said the British royal said at the Anglesey Show on Wednesday, according to Us magazine.
