Kate Middleton Final Public Appearance June 13? Duchess Moving in With Parents
Kate Middleton is reportedly scaling back her public appearances in preparation for the birth of her first child.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 31, is due to give birth in July and subsequently her final pre-baby birth royal engagement has been confirmed for June 13, giving her one month to relax as her due date nears. Middleton is expected to move in to her parents' Berkshire estate shortly before she gives birth.
"Kate's family want the baby to be born at the Royal Berkshire Hospital," a family friend told the Daily Telegraph.
"Their thinking is that she will be based at her parents' house during the later stages of her pregnancy and they do not want her to have to travel miles to Paddington when she goes into labour," the source added.
In a move that would break royal tradition, Middleton will live with her parents, Carole and Michael, at the Middleton family's Georgian manor instead of hiring a maternity nurse and starting her new life in a royal residence.
"Kate says she 'just feels safest and most secure' with her family and believes that no one could be better placed to teach her about bringing up a baby than her mother, who has three children of her own," Daily Mail royal correspondent Rebecca English reported, quoting an unnamed source.
The news comes just days after it was revealed that Middleton had begun taking cooking classes from the couple's new housekeeper, Antonella Fresolone, to improve her cooking. Fresolone is said to be sharing recipes for her highly regarded specialties, which reportedly includes homemade pasta and freshly baked bread.
The royal couple is said to be excited about the arrival of their first royal heir, and Prince William, 30, was recently asked about whether he was looking forward to fatherhood.
"Very much so," the prince answered, according to the Daily Mirror U.K. "All the mothers have been looking at me, 'just you wait, just you wait. Long sleepless nights'."
