Kate Middleton Mother Will Be Prince George's Travel Nanny During Australian Tour?
Kate Middleton has reportedly enlisted the help of her mother Carole for her upcoming tour around Australia with Prince William and baby George Alexander Louis.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 31, recently hired William's former nanny, Jessie Webb, 71, to care for Prince George however due to her part-time employment basis she will not accompany them during their trip. Instead, Carole will reportedly join the royal family as baby George's travel nanny.
"They don't want just anyone helping out in Australia and think Carole would be perfect. William has always admired the close relationship between Carole and Michael and how they've raised their children in such a happy environment," a source told the Daily Mirror UK. "That's what he wants for George, so he and Kate are enlisting their help whenever they can."
The trip will mirror the late Princess Diana and Prince Charles' 1983 trip to Australia which marked a then nine-months-old William's first trip abroad. Prior to the trip Queen Elizabeth II first had to give permission for William to travel on the same plane as his father as royal protocol dictates an heir and the next in line must not fly together.
Middleton is said to be selective about who assists her in caring for her son and she has reportedly reserved babysitting duties for immediate family members only. A source also claims she has taken a very hands on role in her parenting duties.
"Kate doesn't want George to be more used to the sight of the help than to his own parents," a source told Us magazine. "George has given a whole new meaning to Catherine's life."
The royal couple is said to be excited about their upcoming tour around Australia, they will also tour the nation's neighboring country, New Zealand.
"We are all very hopeful of coming to Australia next year," William told guests at the Anglesey show in Wales on Aug. 14.
