Kate Middleton, Prince William Trying for Baby No. 2? Duchess Wants 'At Least 3'

Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly trying for a second baby less than two months after the birth of Prince George Alexander Louis.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 31, are said to be adjusting well to parenthood after welcoming the birth of baby George on July 22. A new report claims the royal couple is already trying to conceive their second child and Middleton is hoping to get pregnant by Christmas.

"William and Kate are very keen to start trying for baby No. 2. They'd be thrilled if Kate were pregnant by Christmas," a source told Life & Style magazine.

"William and Kate will be splitting their time during the holidays with Kate's family and the queen in Sandringham House in Norfolk, so it would be the perfect moment for an announcement," the source explained.

Both William and Middleton were raised with at least one sibling, Prince Harry as well as Pippa and James, and subsequently they want their son to have a similar upbringing. While the Duke reportedly wants two children, the Duchess wants three.

"Royal or not, all couples want to mirror the special bond they had with their own siblings," royal expert Jeremy Fine said.

"William, who has one younger brother, has said in the past that he definitely wants two children, while Kate, who has a younger sister and a younger brother, has told friends that she hopes to have at least three," he added.

The royal couple recently moved with their newborn son to Kensington palace and while Middleton's parents are believed to be assisting with the baby, William and Middleton are said very hands-on parents. A source claims that rather than wait and take their time, the pair would rather expand their family right away.

"They know this time will fly by, and they figure they might as well have another baby next year so they can deal with it all at the same time," a source said.
