Kate Middleton Undergoing Hypnotherapy to Treat Morning Sickness
Kate Middleton had reportedly started undergoing hypnotherapy treatments in a bid to ease her morning sickness.
The Duchess of Cambridge, who is currently three months along in her pregnancy, has already been hospitalized twice since Dec. 3 after suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. While her health is said to be improving daily, she is hoping that hypnotherapy will help relieve the sickness entirely, according to Australia's New Idea Magazine.
"Kate still looks at food and feels nauseous. She's been plagued with that feeling you have when you've had food poisoning and your stomach's shrunk. She finds it very hard to eat a full meal and gets full very quickly," Jessica Jay, an alleged friend of Middleton's, told New Idea.
"The hypnotherapy is taking away any negative thoughts connected with food from the morning sickness, and replacing them with cravings for healthy, nutritious food," she explained.
Middleton's pregnancy cravings reportedly include avocados, berries, oatmeal and broccoli. The Starbucks fan has switched her coffee to decaf, she is said to drink grande decaf skinny lattes regularly, according to Us Magazine.
The reports follow news that Middleton is due to give birth to her first child in July. Both she and Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, 30, are said to be thrilled with the baby news.
"Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July," a St James' Palace spokesman said. "The Duchess's condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month."
The couple, who has been married two years, has reportedly started considering baby names. Hay, who once shared a dorm with Middleton at Marlborough College, confirmed that Diana is the Duchess' favorite name.
Hay believes that the royal couple will pick the name for their first child should they have a baby girl.
"Funnily enough, Diana is a name Catherine has always loved," Hay told Australian magazine New Idea.
