Kate Upton Boyfriend Rumors Slammed, Model Talks Religion: 'I Want A Cross With Me'
Kate Upton voiced her frustrations with the modeling industry and even opened up about her religious beliefs in a new interview this week.
The 21-year-old model first graced the cover of Sports Illustrated last year, but admitted that the feat actually "felt terrible."
Upton revealed that appearing on the magazine cover subjected her to criticism and even caused the young model to feel objectified, according to Elle magazine.

"After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month," said the Michigan native. "Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something."
Most recently, the model is featured on Elle's September 2013 cover. Upton told the magazine that the modeling industry casts a harsh stereotypes that even apply to her faith in God.
"I was at a photo shoot and I was wearing a cross necklace that my mom bought me, and somebody made a joke like, 'Why are you wearing a cross? Like you would be religious,'" the model recounted. "And then they took it away. I was really affected by that."
Upton attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy and her mother is Shelly Upton, a former Texas tennis champion.
Despite the sexy persona in swimsuit photo shoots, Upton maintained that she does have faith, and the experience with her cross necklace compelled her to get a cross tattoo on her finger.
"The whole thing made me realize that I do want [a cross] with me, at all times," she said.
Furthermore, Upton lamented that even in professional settings, she is treated differently because of her modeling career.
"I'm not a toy, I'm a human, I'm not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s--- out," affirmed the model before addressing "dumb blonde" stereotypes.
"People deal with models like they are children," Upton explained to Elle. "They think they can pull one over on you."
As for her personal life, the model has been linked to "Dancing With The Stars" professional dancer Maks Chmerkovskiy. However, the model said that she is "just having fun" and that relationships are not her priority.
Meanwhile, Upton has also appeared in films "Tower Heist" and "The Three Stooges," and is filming scenes for the movie "The Other Woman."
