Katherine Heigl Slammed, Co-Star Patrick Wilson Defends Actress

Patrick Wilson is defending Katherine Heigl after the actress was deemed "difficult to work with" last week.

Just days after multiple Hollywood insiders bashed the "Grey's Anatomy" star for having a "bad" attitude, Wilson said that the report was fueled by envy since Heigl just landed a new television series.

"Now listen, this article that came out was because, and you know how the press works, she sold a show last week to NBC. Well great! So what do people do? 'Hey, let's rip her down a few days later,'" Wilson explained while on HuffPost Live on Sept. 13.

Wilson continued to debunk the report by The Hollywood Reporter, which took aim at Heigl last week. In it, industry execs claimed that Heigl's career had slowed because of a persnickety attitude.

"She can cost you time every single day of shooting," said one source who had worked on the set of "Life As We Know It" alongside Heigl while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter. "Wardrobe issues, not getting out of the trailer, questioning the script every single day."

The report also indicated that Heigl was no stranger to using expletives when something went wrong, as it often seemed to do.

"It's about the mouth, 'F--- you. You are a f- liar,' whatever you'd say, you were an idiot," the anonymous source elucidated. "The call would be, 'This is the worst craft service we've ever had! There's nothing to eat! This is the worst wardrobe!' You knew that every day, you were going to get slammed."

Another unnamed television executive said that Heigl was "not worth it" despite being a great actress.

However, Wilson, who stars in the upcoming film "North of Hell" with Heigl, maintained that the actress was nothing like the report's descriptions of her.

"She was not only not all of those things- 'Oh, she was late and never came out of the trailer,' nothing," he said on HuffPost Live. "She showed up, worked her tail off, super funny, super gracious, great to the cast, great to the crew, and was a total pro. Someone that's been doing it forever. You walk away and you go, well that's a great actress and a great person to work with."

Furthermore, Wilson said he would be willing to work with Heigl again in a "heartbeat."

"I have to defend her because she couldn't have been a better experience," he noted.
