Katie Couric and John Molner 'Clearly in Love,' Sources at Cancer Fundraiser Claim
Katie Couric and John Molner have been described by sources close to them as being "very happy together." Couric, a former CBS Evening News anchor, has been reported to have been dating Molner for several months, according to the NY Post.
Molner, 49, is the head of mergers and acquisitions at investment bank and securities firm Brown Brothers Harriman. He has been seen with Couric, 55, recently but have kept their relationship private until now.
According to the NY Post, the new couple were seen at the Ellen Hermanson Breast Cancer Benefit July 28, and were described by one guest as being "clearly in love."
One guest at the breast cancer fundraiser told the NY Post: "Katie looked better than ever and, clearly in love, did her best to keep her relationship with John low-key. She was careful not to be photographed with him, but they were clearly together. They looked good together and other guests remarked that he seemed a more age-appropriate match."
Another source allegedly at the party described the couple as being affectionate with one another as they prepared to leave the event. The couple were "kissing in the driveway before driving away together," the unnamed source explained.
Katie Couric, who is a former co-host for the Today show, previously dated Brooks Perlin for five years. Their relationship caused a stir as they have an age difference of 17 years. However, the couple, who got together in 2006, finally split in December 2011 when they couldn't overcome trouble in their relationship.
Couric has been married once before; to late husband Jay Monahan. However, he tragically died in 1998 of colon cancer. Couric had two daughters from that relationship; Ellie who is now 21 years old, and Carrie who is still a teenager at 16 years old.
Couric is starring in a new talk show titled "Katie," which will premiere on September 10, 2012.
